TINA LAWTON (1944-1968)
Folk singer, Adelaide, 1960s

South Australian musician and artist Tina Lawton was a very popular folk performer in Adelaide in the early Sixties, as well as becoming a noted print artist. She recorded three albums between 1965 and 1967 and also appeared and performed in the ABC-TV 1960s historical drama The Restless Years.

Tina left Australia in 1967, undertaking a gruelling tour of S.E. Asia before settling in Glasgow to further her art studies. Tragically, she was killed in a plane crash in December 1968 while holidaying with friends in Kenya. She was only 24.
