9 Network 1971

Genre: Current affairs
Duration: 4 x 90 min eps
Medium: videotape/film, B&W

Credits
Producer: Henri Toluzzi
Host: John Bailey

Notes
This very shortlived series was one of the first of the commercial networks' many abortive attempts to create a credible rival to the ABC's FOUR CORNERS. According to Tony Harrison, this monthly current affairs series showed considerable promise, but only four episodes were made before producer Toluzzi left the show and it was cancelled. It was not until the '80s and the advent of Nine's SUNDAY that a commercial network was able to create a viable alternative to the ABC's dominance in public affairs reporting.
